Asia-Pacific sports nutrition retailer with 8k SKUs and a checkout that took 6 steps. We rebuilt on Magento 2 + Hyvä theme, collapsed checkout to 3 steps, and shipped a subscriptions module from scratch.
The challenge
Existing Magento store was hit with 4-second median page load and a 6-step checkout. Mobile bounce was 64%. The team had outgrown the original theme and wanted subscriptions as a new revenue line.
What we built
Greenfield Hyvä theme rebuild on the same Magento 2 codebase. Checkout reduced from 6 steps to 3 single-page steps. Built a custom subscriptions module from scratch with auto-renewal, skip-month, and gift-subscription support. PWA layer for mobile.
Tech stack
Results
- Mobile bounce dropped from 64% → 28% in the first month after launch
- Median page load down from 4.1s → 1.6s on category pages
- Subscription orders now 27% of revenue, up from 0%
- BFCM 2024 ran without any cart-abandonment-driven incidents
