The Magento 2.4.3 update has already been released, and if we consider the response it has received, it has been phenomenal. You know what it is and how it can be a cherry on top for your online store, now let’s talk about how it can speed up your business in today’s competitive environment.

The Magento release contains 98 new features, 68 bug fixes, 50 security changes, 7 test cycles, 12 packages, and support for PHP 7.4.

Moreover, you are able to take advantage of:

  • Resolved 33 security issues

  • Limitation of the rate of data transmission
  • An updated composer plugin
  • Infrastructure updates
  • PayPal Pay Later support
  • Updated dependencies for core composer
  • Updated third-party libraries
  • A live search engine
  • Expansion of the GraphQL API
  • Magento B2B version 1.3.2

1. Security Enhancements

Magento version 2.4.2 has been upgraded to fix all known issues found in previous versions. In addition, 33 security fixes or improvements have been made to eliminate vulnerabilities such as Remote Code Execution (RCE) and cross-site scripting (XSS).

You might want to install at least one of the security patch versions if you aren’t able to upgrade or install the latest version.

  • Version 2.4.2-p2 of Adobe Commerce
  • Version 2.3.7-p1 of Adobe Commerce

A key security enhancement is the expansion of the reCAPTCHA coverage as well as the addition of rate-limiting. In addition, ElasticSearch version 7.10 and 3rd party components have now been upgraded to support PHP 8.

A new rate-limiting feature allows users to limit the size or number of resources they are able to request. By using the new features in this update, we can prevent potential DDOS attacks from arising.

In addition to slowing down your site, DDOS attacks can also crash it entirely. Magento continues to make improvements to help make your website more stable, and we are always pleased to see these improvements.

Also, this feature will ensure that the backend of a Magento store is not swamped with API requests, lowering the chances of slower performance.

As a result of these enhancements, remote code vulnerabilities have been eliminated, and cross-site scripting has been shut down. As far as this update is concerned, there are no approved records of the hackers’ attack.

The Magento team recognized that using administrative controls, it may be possible to exploit this vulnerability to gain access to customer information.

To prevent attacks on administrative access to Magento, Magento has recommended scalable authentication methods such as Two-factor authentication, VPN, IP whitelisting, employing unique solutions, and enabling strong passwords. In addition, Magento has added some of the problems to the core code to improve security.

The new layout also eliminates the requirement for remote executing due to the removal of custom updates. Magento has also redesigned the way in which it offers a content template to allow the attachment of useful variables.

2. PayPal Pay Later support

In addition to PayPal Pay Later, another innovative feature has been added. The instalment method allows shoppers to pay in smaller amounts than paying in full at once.

Your store will drive more sales by lowering the barrier of entry with your product prices, while giving shoppers an additional payment option.

3. Infrastructure improvement

The release enhances the following functional areas and improves the quality of the framework:

  • Customer Account
  • Catalog
  • Content Management System
  • OMS
  • Buying/Selling
  • The promotion and targeting of products
  • The shopping cart and the checkout
  • Business-to-business
  • The staging and preview

4. Updates on GraphQL

A number of notable features are included in this version of Magento, such as enhanced cart functionality, an improved search tool, and a more comprehensive navigation system.

There are some other factors that you can avail in GraphQL updates;

  • Access to the cart from various devices as well as the ability to link it to them.
  • It is not possible to change the tax on the product or information regarding the discounts.
  • On the storefront, GraphQL users can now approve the returns price using methods related to the price on the storefront.
  • Promotional data can be found on the cart.
  • In addition, users have the option of accessing category data via IDs, slugs, and names.
  • This release of Magento ensures that shared routes will be covered by GraphQL.
  • Using RoutableInterface and route query, you can route requests on product, category, and CMS pages.
  • URLResolver query functionality has been replaced with route query functionality.
